Walk-In Clinic at Washtenaw Children's Dental Clinic

Ann Arbor, MI - March 10, 2009 - A group of dental students from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry will be working with dentists and dental hygienists from across Washtenaw County to provide oral health care at the Washtenaw Children's Dental Clinic in Ann Arbor on Saturday, March 28.

From 8:00 a.m. to noon, and from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., the students, volunteer dentists, and hygienists will provide dental screenings and cleanings at the Ann Arbor Open School (the old Mack School Building) at 920 Miller Avenue. Fillings and extractions may also be provided, if necessary. If other treatment needs are identified but can't be provided that day, follow-up appointments will be set up either at the Children's Dental Clinic or with a local participating dentist. To help offset the cost of supplies, a $5 donation will be requested to treat each child.

Children who come to the clinic for care must be a resident of Washtenaw County, range in age from preschool to 18 years, and must be eligible for the federal hot lunch program.

Since 1952, the Washtenaw Children's Dental Clinic, a non-profit clinic serving the dental needs of low-income children, has been providing basic preventive and restorative care to Washtenaw County children.
