Admission to Predoctoral Dentistry
Admission to the School of Dentistry is based upon evidence of academic training, intellectual capacity adequate to the pursuit of a profession, and other qualifications which indicate that the student is fitted for the study and practice of dentistry.

Admission to International Dental Studies Program
The International program requires you to have a dental degree and have passed part one of the National Dental Boards in the US. Candidates must also be proficient in English and have passed the TOEFL exam.

Admission to Graduate Dentistry
Completed applications will be evaluated by the Horace H. Rackham School of Graduate Studies and by the admissions committee of the School of Dentistry.

Admission to Dental Hygiene
To be eligible for consideration, candidates must demonstrate an above-average high school academic record in a college preparatory curriculum including completion of: one unit of chemistry; one unit of biology; three units of English (four units strongly encouraged); two units of algebra; four units selected from foreign languages, science, social studies, and mathematics; and four units of any other subject counted toward graduation from high school. Above-average performance is required in the science and mathematics courses.

Admission to Oral Health Sciences Ph.D. Program

Admission documents are reviewed by the OHS PhD Admissions and Program Faculty. Admission recommendations are forwarded to the Horace H. Rackham School for Graduate Studies for final admission decisions. Application material must include: Rackham application, personal statement, three letters of recommendation, transcripts, GRE scores and TOEFL (international students).

Admission to the DDS/Oral Health Sciences Ph.D. Program

Applicants for the DDS/PhD Program must be accepted into both the DDS Program and the Oral Health Sciences Ph.D. Program at the University of Michigan. As early as possible in the admissions process, students should submit a letter of interest in the DDS/PhD combined training.

Admission to the Scholar's Program in Dental Leadership (SPDL)

The Scholar's Program in Dental Leadership (SPDL) is designed to enhance the leadership skills of students in the DDS Program. Applicants to the SPDL must first be accepted into the DDS Program.
